  Both are great players in their respective right but Mr Mac needs to decide who should be the better player to run the centre of the park for England. It's like having two generals to to lead a team albeit different qualities that will help England's cause.
  
  So far England looked more dangerous at attacking when Gerrard is at the attacking half.

  You are right, both have their strengths and merits, but MacGoreng has to decide who best to fit into this tactics and formation. I think however, he has a problem with tactics and formation in the first place, that's why he can't decide.
  
  He does not have a solid game plan in which he can decide on and choose the player most suited to the task. Not so much as to whether the one dropped is a lousy player.

  nevertheless, lampard should have been dropped long ago, ever since at the int'l stage where he fired 28 shots but none found the net. so much for a brilliant attacking midfielder.
  
  as i said, he is only made to look world-class (at chelsea) with essien/makelele/mikel doing the dirty work for him.
  
  in england, gerrard is the only one who does the dirty work, so he wanna steal the limelight from gerrard but in vain. All his passes went astray, no creativity, can't really tackle well, blasted all his shots high and wide or straight to the keeper... WOW! England-material huh?! -.-
  
  I say we should plonk down the hargreaves-gerrard partnership, with carrick as backup.
