Blackburn have made the recruitment of another striker their top priority this summer, with Craig Bellamy top of manager Mark Hughes's wish list.
Hughes is happy with the depth of his squad but believes the addition of one more striker will see his side well prepared for what he hopes will be another campaign in Europe.
Former Rovers striker Bellamy, who left the club to join Liverpool last summer, is on Hughes's shortlist, while the Welshman continues to monitor James Beattie at Everton.
"We've identified a number of strikers that we are interested in," Rovers chairman John Williams told the Lancashire Telegraph.
"Mark feels we've got the strongest squad we have had for a number of years, but he also feels we could still do with an extra striker and he's given me a list of players he is interested in.
"Now between ourselves and our scouting network, that's what we will be looking at over the summer."
Rovers will also have to fend off interest in their own players this summer, with Benni McCarthy and Morten Gamst Pedersen having attracted interest.
"I've told Mark we don't have to sell anyone this summer and we are determined to hold onto the players we already have," added Williams.
