MARK VIDUKA has agreed to join Newcastle — but Scott Parker is set to leave in an £8.5million move to West Ham. Aussie hitman Vid will be Sam Allardyce’s first high-profile signing since he took the Toon job at the end of the season.
Viduka, 31, was out of contract at Middlesbrough and rejected a new £40,000-a-week two-year deal to stay. It is a huge blow to Boro boss Gareth Southgate as Viduka has proved a consistent goalscorer at the Riverside, as he was for his previous clubs Celtic and Leeds.
Viduka, who managed to bag 14 Premiership goals this term in an injury-hit season on Teesside, had also attracted strong interest from Portsmouth. West Ham have tabled an £8.5m bid for Toon skipper Parker — who cost £6.5m from Chelsea two years ago.
The England midfielder, 26, used to play for Hammers boss Alan Curbishley at Charlton and fancies a return to London.
Bye Bye Scotty... At least his value went up after he joint Newcastle...

This Allardyce really standard sia. He'll get someone big and strong upfront to use as targetman(Kevin Davies did his job at Bolton). He also like to have a midfield distributor of the ball who can also help in defence (Kevin Nolan at Bolton, Joey Barton at Newcastle).
I've got a feeling Newcastle will play long ball next season.

Hammers close on Parker
West Ham are thought to be closing in on the signing of Scott Parker after seeing off late interest from Tottenham.
The Hammers tabled a bid for Newcastle skipper Parker on Wednesday night and it is believed The Magpies have accepted the offer.
The news is reported to have alerted Tottenham to Parker's availability, but West Ham have firmed up their interest to fend off Tottenham's advances.
Parker is now reportedly set to meet West Ham officials on Thursday to discuss a possible switch to Upton Park.
Hammers boss Alan Curbishley is keen to bring in a new midfielder with Nigel Reo-Coker set to move on and he has made Parker his top target. -
Owen not committed even until today he has not come out to say he wants to stay... My guess is anytime any of the big 4 come in for him he will jump ship... Like that how to be captain? He is one of the top scorer leh... 14 league goals is pretty good already considering that he was injured for almost 1/3 of the season... and he don't even cost them a cent in transfer fee... Anyway, Curbishley wants his Charlton captain back...

West Ham to pick up £7m Parker
Scott Parker is on the verge of signing for West Ham for £7m, after the Hammers fought off late competition from Tottenham. West Ham chief executive Scott Duxbury was involved in talks with Parker's representatives last night, after Tottenham had declared their interest in the Newcastle captain.
It is understood from sources close to the player that Parker is set to meet with West Ham officials today after the two clubs agreed a fee. West Ham manager Alan Curbishley sees Parker as a potential captain and the ideal replacement for current skipper Nigel Reo-Coker, who has handed in a transfer request. -
