Premiership - West Ham say Harewood can go
Premiership - Marlon Harewood will leave West Ham this summer after the club told him he can leave for the right fee. The striker said Alan Curbishley had made it clear that he was not part of his plans, and would look for a new club.
"I think it's time for me to leave West Ham," said Harewood. "I've had four good years.
"I've had a chat with the manager and it's clear he wants to bring in new players. It happens at every club. I'm on holiday at the moment and will think about it when I get back."
Harewood has had a dismal season, scoring just three times in 31 games. It is a dramatic fall from grace for a player who was being tipped for an England call-up 12 months ago.
The 27-year-old became a target for West Ham fans for his perceived lack of commitment as the club flirted with relegation. -
