Drogba: Injuries cost us

Didier Drogba believes a spate of injuries severely cost Chelsea the chance to retain their title last season.
The Blues had won back-to-back Premiership trophies prior to finishing second this time around.
Jose Mourinho was robbed of the likes of Joe and Ashley Cole, Petr Cech, Arjen Robben and John Terry for periods of the season due to injury.
With the likes of Cech and Joe Cole unavailable over Christmas, Chelsea drew at home to Reading and Fulham, dropped points Drogba believes were crucial.
"Chelsea lost the title when we drew with Fulham and Reading," he told the club's season review DVD.
"That was the period when we had all those injuries.
"Our fantastic players had shown every quality but, unfortunately, there were so many injuries to cope with." -
I shall not bother giving long reply for this because the eventual Champions, Manchester United, had their entire 1st team defence in treatment room for a period of time, players such as Park, Van der Sar and Saha having lenghty injuries.

I don't think he is whinning about it now, but this was done quite long ago.
well, drogba was right, injuries to Chelsea did rob them of an edge, but effectively, MUFC cope better than them.
every team has to deal with uncertainty and the best team to better manage wins. simple..
same as I would say that Milan was better prepared for the UCL finals cause they know they can't win the league. And their main priority after the docking of points was to ensure that they qualify for UCL next season which they did, so they are able to better rest their players.
whereas for Chelsea and MUFC, even Pool were sucked in the title chase, and that effectively costs them not to do well in Europe. -
