Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is not concerned he does not have much money to spend in the transfer market.
It appears Roman Abramovich has tightened the purse strings at Stamford Bridge with Mourinho being told no huge transfer fees will be paid for top stars.
The Blues are scoring the market for bargain signings and they have already drafted in Steve Sidwell and Claudio Pizarro on free transfers.
Chelsea's Premiership rivals Manchester United have splurged the money this summer already with deals for Nani, Anderson and Owen Hargreaves, but Mourinho remains confident his side can regain their Premier League title next season even without big-money signings.
"For the next season Chelsea have told me there is not much of a budget for reinforcements," Mourinho told The Mirror.
"The money will be practically nil and we will not be paying for transfers. But I don't think that investment is necessary because Chelsea already have an able and successful team as long as we don't have injuries.
"That is what hurt us last season.
"Even without big investments, Chelsea will be fighting with United. I am convinced that we will be the best next season."
