Premiership - Middlesbrough in for Tuncay
Premiership - Middlesbrough are reported to be lining up a bid for Fenerbahce's out-of-contract forward Tuncay Sanli.
The 25-year-old would be the first attacking signing following the recent departures of trio Mark Viduka, Malcolm Christie and Massimo Maccarone.
The Evening Gazette claim that chief executive Keith Lamb has flown to Istanbul to meet the player after he made clear his desire to play in England.
Tuncay has scored 12 goals in 38 games for Turkey and can play on the wing or through the middle.
Boro, meanwhile, have also been linked with a move for Levante's Dutch winger Mustapha Riga, but reports in Spain claim he has signed a new deal with the Valencia-based club.
Boro agree terms with Tuncay
Middlesbrough have agreed personal terms with Turkey international Tuncay Sanli as they attempt to find a replacement for striker Mark Viduka.
The 25-year-old forward, who is out of contract at Fenerbahce, will now undergo a medical with a view to completing a move to the Premier League.
Chief executive Keith Lamb flew to Turkey earlier this week to push home his club's interest in a player who famously scored a Champions League hat-trick against Manchester United in 2004.
