Edmilson calls for Barca to sort out unrest
MADRID, June 13 (Reuters) - Barcelona must sort out dressing room divisions if they want to return to being successful again, Brazilian midfielder Edmilson has said.
The defending Primera Liga champions have been dogged by complacency, inconsistency and ego-driven disputes throughout their campaign, which Edmilson believes has damaged their push for trophies.
'I'm not going to go into details but there are things which everyone knows about and which have come out in the press,' Edmilson was quoted as saying in the Spanish media on Wednesday.
'We have played in seven competitions and only won two (the Catalunya Cup and the Spanish Super Cup), which is not a lot.
He added: 'I can't say what they have to fix, but we all know what the problems are. When things don't go well, you have to put them right.'
Barca's last chance for a major trophy this season relies on league leaders Real Madrid slipping up in their last game at home to Real Mallorca on Sunday.
Frank Rijkaard's side are level on 73 points with Real but second due to their inferior head-to-head record. Barca visit relegated Gimnastic Tarragona.
Sevilla, who are two points back in third, are at home to Villarreal.
