Thierry Henry is looking more likely to leave Arsenal after Arsene Wenger reportedly entered talks with Barcelona over the sale of his skipper.
After weeks of speculation linking the French striker with a move out of North London, The Times claims 'the Arsenal manager met Ferran Soriano, the Spanish club's financial director, in Paris this week for preliminary discussions, though both parties remain some distance from agreeing Henry's transfer.'
'Wenger's surprising decision to speak to Barcelona stems from his realisation that he is running out of options, with Henry eager to take what many believe would be his final opportunity to move to Spain,' the newspaper adds.
Wenger would like to include Samuel Eto'o as part of the deal, but The Times claims the Spanish giants are 'reluctant' to part with the Cameroon striker.
However, The Guardian, which also reports Wenger's clandestine meeting, says 'Barcelona are thought to consider Eto'o surplus to requirements if Henry arrives.'
Yet, with the player himself signalling his determination to remain at the Nou Camp, it remains likely Arsenal will have to accept a straight cash deal of around £20m if they offload their captain.
The Gunners have refused to comment on the reports.
X2..I was thinking..if u can shine in the EPL but is fading away..just go join La Liga or Serie A...Cause their the pace is much slower..if u can play de fast and furious style of EPL La Liga sure no kick...That's why i though RVN's transfer last yr was good for both Man Utd and RVN himself..Will we see yet another fight on de La Liga goalscoring charts btw RVN and Henry?Originally posted by BÃ¥seline:As much as alot of ppl hate to see Henry leave EPL for La Liga, the move may be a good thing for Henry in the long run.
As he aged, we saw less of him taking on players week in week out when he is fit but he somewhat compensated that by playing more one-twos and defense splitting passes. The slower paced and more technique-based of La Liga will be ideal. Besides, there are no lack of talents to support his cause in the final third of the playing field.
Hmm I know Serie A's is slow, but is La Liga the same? I'm not very well-acquainted with La Liga's playing style.Originally posted by lpx88:X2..I was thinking..if u can shine in the EPL but is fading away..just go join La Liga or Serie A...Cause their the pace is much slower..if u can play de fast and furious style of EPL La Liga sure no kick...That's why i though RVN's transfer last yr was good for both Man Utd and RVN himself..Will we see yet another fight on de La Liga goalscoring charts btw RVN and Henry?

Yep it is..i doubt any other league can amtch up to the EPL in terms of its intensity and pace...La Liga is really more technical based..doesn really emphasized on skill..Thats why u find the more skillful mostly south American players there...Established EPL players who moved there I felt will have almost no problems besides the new language and culture as they have their powerful physical attributes as an added boost?Yea..Originally posted by Slipshade:Hmm I know Serie A's is slow, but is La Liga the same? IMO the pace of La Liga is rather on par with the EPL. Serie A's gotta be the slowestOriginally posted by Slipshade:Hmm I know Serie A's is slow, but is La Liga the same? I'm not very well-acquainted with La Liga's playing style.
True lar! He shud just say " I WILL stay" instead of its good to hear offers frm ac milan lar..or he say "for a moment" he will stay in arsenal. cmon titiOriginally posted by omgukilledkenny:IMO the pace of La Liga is rather on par with the EPL. Anyway, i feel that if Henry really wants to stay at Arsenal, he should come out and squash the rumours instead of dilly dallying.
Yea i wonder how Arsenal fans will feel if he leaves, because this is what he said last May 2006,"This is my last contract. It is where I belong."Originally posted by felirox:True lar! Have a go at Brazilian league.... their goal announcement are some of the longest.Originally posted by Slipshade:I'm not sure how it is like for Serie A, but I sure hate the way the La Liga commentators shout 'goal!'.
