Former Juventus coach Didier Deschamps is a possible candidate to take over at Manchester City.
According to The Sun, City chief executive Alistair Mackintosh flew to Paris for secret talks with the Frenchman on Tuesday.
The job has not been offered to Deschamps because of the continued uncertainty over ex-Thai Prime Minister Thaksin ShinawatraÂ’s takeover of the club after his assets were frozen.
Sevilla coach Juande Ramos has virtually ruled himself out of the running. Former Porto boss Co Adriaanse, BlackburnÂ’s Mark Hughes, former Fulham manager Chris Coleman and CelticÂ’s Gordon Strachan have also been linked.
Deschamps parted company with Juventus after guiding them back to Serie A after their relegation for their part in Italian footballÂ’s corruption scandal.
