Valencia sporting director Amedeo Carboni has confirmed that he has made contact with Juventus in order to sign David Trezeguet.
Trezeguet is heading into the final year of his contract, and has no intention of signing a new one on the terms Juventus are offering.
The jury is divided on the issue, with some insisting that Juve do not want to meet his demands, and others maintaining that the player has made up his mind to leave the club.
Valencia have been one of the clubs interested and seem to have made contact to ask about his situation.
"There has been contact so we could understand what the situation was," Carboni to RaiSport.
"We would certainly like Trezeguet. Inside I am optimistic, but in official terms we donÂ’t have much of a chance."
Unless Juventus make up their mind and decide to sell him, there is precious little either Valencia, or for that matter Lyon, can do.
Earlier today Juve skipper Alessandro Del Piero warned that the club would be in a dangerous situation if thay let world class, seasoned Serie A campaigners such as Trezeguet and Camoranesi leave.
