Bent set to snub Reds and join Spurs

Charlton striker Darren Bent could be set to snub a move to Liverpool in favour of a switch to Tottenham this summer.
The News of the World claims that Bent will make a £12m move to White Hart Lane in the next few weeks as Martin Jol prepares to start a £24m transfer spree.
The 23-year-old turned down West Ham last week and was immediately touted as a potential big-money signing for Anfield chief Rafa Benitez.
However, it is thought that Bent would prefer to remain in the capital, and long-term admirers Spurs are ready to pounce.
Jol is also ready to step up his efforts to snap up West Brom defender Curtis Davies for a fee in the region of £6m, with Tottenham duo Wayne Routledge and Anthony Gardner heading in the opposite direction as part of the deal.
Jol will reportedly end his summer spending by signing Feyenoord left-back Royston Drenthe and French midfielder Biaise Matuidi from Troyes.

Martin Jol is really crazy la. His squad is already very very big but he keeps signining and signing new players.
I dont see how Bent can play when Berbatov, Defoe and Keane are also very good strikers.

Good decision ..If he goes to West Ham,he may be in a precarious situation again in a dog fight for survival.
He wish to go to a team that he could fight his case for a spot in England colors.

Defoe's future doesn't seem very bright even before Bent made this decision anyway. So it is afterall, quite possible that Defoe will leave.
