The goalkeeper has sent Turkish football fans, and media, crazy with his switch.
According to a major news network (NTV), Fenerbahce's goalkeeper Rustu Recber has completed his move to bitter rivals Besiktas.
The contract is said to be three years long and Rustu is going to earn 1,5 million euros per year.
Having long been regarded as one of the symbolic players of Fenerbahce (he has also been the captain), the transfer has created a lot of controversy in Turkey.
The 34-year-old goalkeeper, who once played for Barcelona, spent much of the last season on the bench due to an injury he picked against Italy while playing for Turkish national team.
Fenerbahce's third keeper Serdar Kulbilge had put on a quite good performance during his absence, and although Rustu was fit in the last few weeks of the season, he couldn't get his place back.
Besiktas have also signed young goalkeeper Hakan Arikan from Ankaraspor, which is a clear sign that Croatian goalie Vedran Runje will not be playing for them next season.
