BOLTON are ready to step up their £6million battle with Marseille to sign Djibril Cisse.
Wanderers boss Sammy Lee would love to have LiverpoolÂ’s French strike ace, 25, playing alongside Nicolas Anelka and El-Hadji Diouf.
And Lee hopes to persuade his old club to let him have Cisse, who was on loan at Marseille last season, for the next campaign before finalising a deal in the summer of 2008.
Lee yesterday landed Kop midfielder Danny Guthrie, 20, on a season-long loan.
He said: “Danny is a dynamic player who is comfortable on the ball with a great engine.”
