The negotiation for the Real Zaragoza defender has complicated itself and the Bianconeri are now looking at the Racing Santander player.
Gabriel Milito seems closer to a move to Real Madrid following the latest developments.
Real Zaragoza have in fact increased the price tag on their defender from 20 to 25 million Euros as soon as the Merengues joined the race to sign the defender, and the Bianconeri are not ready to pay that amount.
For this reason, Juventus have focused their attention on Ezequiel Garay, another Argentinean central defender who plays for Racing Santander according to 'Marca'.
This would be a cheaper solution for the Old Lady as Garay is younger than Milito and managed to score 10 goals with his club this season.
Garay has a contract till 2011 with Racing Santander and now it's up to the Bianconeri's directors to follow up their interest and see if the deal can go through.

Juve Chase €25 Million Mario Gomez
Juventus look set to go on a spending spree, and target number one appears to be StuttgartÂ’s Mario Gomez.
Top of their list of new players is a striker because of the imminent departure of David Trezeguet for either Lyon or Valencia. The Juve management have signed Iaquinta, but need one more striker, and have been keeping tabs on StuttgartÂ’s Mario Gomez for months.
The striker has a very good reputation in Italy and is seen as one of Giovanni Trapattoni’s discoveries. Proof of his popularity is demonstrated by the fact that a video-stream of his best goals is shown on the homepage of the sports paper ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’.
Italian fans may be getting a sneak preview of what is to come.
Gomez himself is defensive about the current rumours: “I am a player for VfB Stuttgart. I’ve said that often enough. My advisor deals with everything else."
Stuttgart manager Horst Heldt has been quoted in an Italian newspaper as joking “Gomez is staying with us- unless we got an offer of €25 million.”
Juventus president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli appears ready to offer Stuttgart exactly that price to get his man.
Manager Horst Heldt has responded by saying “I have heard of the rumours. But for us it is clear, we will not let Mario leave. It would send out the wrong signals to the rest of the team.”

Stuttgart: No go for Gomez
Bundesliga champions Stuttgart have made it clear they have no intention of selling Mario Gomez despite reports of a big-money offer from Juventus.
Stuttgarter Nachrichten claims Juve boss Claudio Ranieri is keen to bolster his options up front and is ready to make a €25million (£16.8million) offer for the young German international.
Stuttgart have denied that an official bid was lodged, but have taken the opportunity to insist Gomez will be going nowhere this summer.
"We won't let Mario leave. It would be the wrong signal for the team," director of sport Horst Heldt told Stuttgarter Nachrichten.
After surprisingly lifting the Bundesliga title, Stuttgart are determined to keep their young and promising squad together.
Rather than selling their most prized assets, they are looking to strengthen and have been linked with Real Zaragoza striker Ewerthon, Alfonso Alves of Herenveen and St Etienne's Bafetimbi Gomis.
