England manager Steve McClaren has written to England fans in a bid to get them to lay off Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard.
McClaren is unhappy supporters booed Lampard during the 1-1 friendly draw with Brazil at Wembley earlier this month.
In his annual report to englandfans, he wrote: "Unfortunately, one point I should raise is that we were all disappointed to hear Frank Lampard being booed at Wembley against Brazil.
"Frank is a tremendous player and he didn't deserve that reaction."
Despite being the target of criticism himself from fans during the European Championship qualifier against Andorra in Barcelona, McClaren has still praised the England fans.
He added: "In Tallinn, for the game against Estonia, our supporters were brilliant.
"No matter where we play, we seem to have the largest travelling support and this can genuinely be a 12th man for us."
McClaren has proven to be a joke in his England Management days.
The recall of Beckham has shown his gullibility.
He has shown that he dare not touch the big names even when they are not performing, but chopping the names of those who are.
The last win for England in the qualifiers, was done WITHOUT Lampard,
who mysteriously, turned out for Chelsea in the next EPL game..
When Rooney wasn't performing, he should have given other players a chance to perform, like Defoe, Bent or etc. Instead he chose to put his eggs on MOwen.
He is surely on his way out..
