Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has moved to allay fears over LiverpoolÂ’s inactivity in the transfer market.
The Spanish manager has told supporters not to worry about the lack of big name signings so far this summer.
There are many big names being linked to the club, but as yet youngster Lucas Leiva from Gremio is the only confirmed signing.
Pre-season training begins on Thursday for the majority of the squad, but Benitez remains confident new faces will be brought in soon.
"We have a number of targets, and I am receiving interesting phone calls all the time" he said.
"We are monitoring situations all the time and there is no urgency yet.
"If we bring in players from Spain, they only finished playing a week ago so they will need a longer break, but I would like somebody in before we start pre-season training."
The club are being linked with moves for Fernando Torres from Atletico Madrid and Mancini from Roma. Simão Sabrossa of Benfica and Sevilla's Daniel Alves are also his long term targets.
Following on from defeat in the ChampionsÂ’ League final to Milan, Benitez was quick to call for big name signings to make Liverpool more competitive. However, exactly one month on, there has been precious little but talk, and sections of fans are getting restless.
