The Catalan giants have upped their offer for Eric Abidal by 3 million euros.
The Lyon left back is one of the quartet of players Barcelona are looking to sign in the coming days, along with Thierry Henry, Christian Chivu and Yaya Toure.
Negotiations had stalled over Lyon's asking price, which was close to 15 million euros, but Barcelona have picked things up again, upping their offer from 9 to 12 million.
It had been suggested for a while that 12m would be enough to convince Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas to let go, and if true, Abidal would indeed become the fourth player to move to Barcelona in the coming week.
The player has already declared his intention to quit Lyon and begin a new stage in his career with Barca, leaving the french champions with little choice.
Henry is likely to be presented to the media around noon on Monday, Toure either on Monday evening or early Tuesday morning, and Chivu's move could also be completed by Wednesday.

No throphy this season sparks a wild rush for players? I think this would almost certainly downgrade team morale.
