Sociedad want Toshack back
Wales coach John Toshack is wanted by his former club Real Sociedad.Following Sociedad's relegation from La Liga, Miguel Angel Lotina has stepped down as coach and taken over at Deportivo La Coruna.
The Basque club have reportedly turned to Toshack, who has had three previous stints as coach of Sociedad.
Toshack is wanted in a sporting director's role to plot the club's return to the top flight next season.
He will be offered a two-year contract, with Sociedad president Maria de la Pena confirming the club's interest.
De la Pena is quoted in the People as saying: "Toshack knows the history of this club and the way we all work."
Toshack is currently in his second spell as coach of the Wales national team, having replaced Mark Hughes in 2004.
But his reign has prompted heavy criticism, particularly from the likes of Robbie Savage, as Wales have failed to mount a challenge for Euro 2008 qualification. a
