Germany striker Miroslav Klose is leaving Werder Bremen to join Bayern Munich.
The top scorer of last year's World Cup is leaving Werder one year before the end of his contract.
"Bayern fulfilled our expectations and we approved the transfer under those conditions," Werder's general manager Klaus Allofs said Tuesday.
A statement by Werder said Bayern had made a "vastly improved" offer Monday for the Polish-born striker.
Werder gave no figures, but the Bild newspaper said Bayern was paying a transfer fee of €15 million (US$20.19 million).

Werder Speak On Klose's Bayern Move
Werder bosses have finally admitted defeat in their bid to keep hold of Miroslav Klose.
Werder-boss Jürgen Born said: “The decision was made on Monday. Munich came to us with an improved offer which matched our demands.
"Apart from that we feel we need some peace. That goes for Bayern, Werder and the national team. Perhaps we’ve done everyone a favour.”
Bremen do not have a replacement for Klose ready and waiting he stressed.
Trainer Thomas Schaaf revealed, “It is a shame that our time together is at an end. Of course we would have loved to have had Miro here for the start of the season.
"But we are doing the right thing, so that our team can have a disruption-free start to the new season. We’d like to thank Miro for the successful work he has done here.”
Manager Klaus Allofs regrets KloseÂ’s departure but sees no urgent need for a replacement.
“We showed last season that we could perform without Miro," he said.
"We are well equipped in attack with Markus Rosenberg, Hugo Almeida, Aaron Hunt as well as youngsters Kevin Schindler and Martin Harnik.
"Also Ivan Klasnic will return. We are watching the market, but are under no pressure.”
