Chris Coleman looks set for a shock return to football as the new manager of Real Sociedad.
Since being dismissed as Fulham boss towards the close of last season, Coleman has been linked with several posts, including the likes of Manchester City and Sheffield United, but it now looks as though he could pitch up on foreign shores.
Sociedad are on the lookout for a new coach following relegation from La Liga last season and, Coleman has emerged as a front-runner having been recommended to the club by John Toshack - a former manager at the Basque outfit.
Coleman is reportedly currently in Spain to discuss terms with Sociedad officials and the move is given more credence, by the fact he has in the past spoken of a desire to manage abroad.
"We see a lot of foreign coaches coming here but not many British guys going abroad," he told the Sun.
"Coaching abroad would improve me as a boss. You see a different side of football, a different culture."
Should Coleman strike an accord with Sociedad then it is expected that his former assistant Steve Kean, who speaks Spanish, would make the move with him.

wow...good move for coleman

Sociedad just relegated from La Liga, so tentatively speaking, he's just like managing a coca cola championship side.
Cheers. CK

Coleman named Sociedad boss
Chris Coleman has been appointed as the new coach of Real Sociedad.
Coleman has been linked with several jobs in England since being dismissed as Fulham manager just weeks before the end of last season.
Reports then surfaced on Wednesday that Sociedad were on the lookout for a new coach and were considering Coleman.
The Welshman was recommended to the Basque club by John Toshack - a former manager of Real Sociedad.
Coleman was verbally offered a three-year deal on Wednesday evening and he has now accepted after being given assurances about transfer funds.
He will replace Miguel Angel Lotina, who parted company with Sociedad following their relegation from La Liga.
Sociedad were relegated for the first time in 400 years on a dramatic final day of the season and Coleman will hope to steer the club back up at the first attempt.
Club president Maria De La Pena has said Coleman's arrival will bring 'freshness and new ideas' to Sociedad.
