Villa boss Martin O'Neill has dropped a hint that striker Chris Sutton's eye injury could signal the end of his playing career.
The 34-year-old has been out of action since bruising a retina against Manchester United before Christmas and will make a decision on his future this summer.
However, O'Neill has suggested he might have to start planning for life without the former Blackburn, Chelsea and Celtic marksman.
He told the Express and Star: "It's been more than frustrating for everyone concerned, especially for Chris.
"It may be different if Chris were 21, but I don't think he wants to be going into games in the latter stages of his career thinking the next time he hurts himself his vision is impaired permanently."
thanks for probably one or two good games.....
guess not everyone is as lucky as scholes
