Andy van der Meyde has admitted he needs to find another club and Everton are unlikely to stand in his way.
The controversial winger has been told he is unlikely to figure in boss David Moyes' plans for pre-season and has been on the look-out for a new club.
But the 27-year-old has so far only come up with his former club FC Twente Enschede as showing any interest and they are unlikely to be able to match his current wages at Goodison Park.
The Dutchman has only managed to complete 90 minutes once - against Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup - in 21 appearances for the club.
He also enraged Moyes when he alleged the manager "told lies" about his fitness, although he later apologised for that incident.
With only 12 months remaining on his contract, Everton would only recoup a fraction of the £1.7m they paid Inter Milan for him two years ago, but the club would prefer to move him on.
