UEFA have released the figures for how much each club collected out of the marketing pool from last season’s Champions League and it seems everyone is a winner.Eventual winners AC Milan took the most, €39.59 million but they were by no means the only club to profit.
Runners-up Liverpool benefited to the tune of €32.2 million, but were overtaken by Chelsea who netted €34.6 million.
All remaining participants made huge financial gains through their appearances in EuropeÂ’s premier club competition.
Bayern Munich, who have not qualified for this yearÂ’s competition, will be increasingly aware of the financial loss this will cause.
They received €28.7 million from the pool, but will have to settle for the UEFA Cup next season. Interestingly, Sevilla who won the UEFA Cup last season gained only €6.2 million for their efforts.
It just goes to show the huge gains to be made out of the Champions League.
