lucky mikel arteta name inside, imo he's the most under rated player in the epl.

His reading of the game and ball control is very good. His ability to make forward runs gives his team another option .
But i dont think he's a world class defender simply because he often has lapse of concentration during games, which leads to silly mistakes.
And he's also the most expensive defender in the world -

ppl tend to observe terry too closely that they forget that carvellho even exists. he gets in the face of players and occationaly scores vital goals. like the one against manu and spurs.
harper also covers the midfield well enough that allows sidwell the freedon to attack more. he dosent dive into tackles but more importantly he is the one who usually breaks the opponents attack
finnan??? self explanatory. the MOST consistant full backs in the epl. good on both feet and crosses.
crouch is definately overrated. most of the goals are simple shots where you dont expect even the lousiest of strikers to miss. of course the occational siccors kick goal gives a shout as to why he should stay at pool. to me he belongs to a club such as wigan or fulham -

Just voicing out my thoughts(I could be bashed up the fans here though)
Could Makelele, Ronaldo, Gerrard and Terry have been over-rated as well?
Makelele's job is to protect the defence by just making tackles, providing cover for Chelsea. However..sitting right behind him is 1 of the strongest central defensive pairing in the world. Then again... Chelsea might need him to cover the field by closing down opponents as well, thus my uncertainty.
Gerrard and Terry 1st came into mind as they're both English too
While no doubt their role in the club is significant, these 2 players have been hailed as Godlike by the media, even when their form has been relatively not as good as compared to previous seasons.
Ronaldo. Certainly this guy is one of the main reasons why Man Utd can be quite successfully in the last season. His runs and dribbles are at times out-of-the-world. But quite a number of people hailing him as simply the best in the world and a hot favourite for the coming footballer of the year awards? I have my doubts. I find that he often holds back quite a fair bit in the big games. Instead of confidently going all put to rape world class defences, he's more of timid to let it all out.
Just my 2 cents. -
Underated - has to be Finnan. How many good crosses he put into the box. How many times he goes up to attack yet covering his defensive duties.

Reina is not overrated. He has proved himself mid and late last season

Cech is certainly one of the best. and I don't think he is over-rated.
he has proven on his own, he can stop any attacks.

rem how he got his hat-trick when he played in his first CL game..
