Chelsea are close to agreeing a £4million deal to snatch Dutch ace Royston Drenthe from under the noses of Real Madrid.
Drenthe was the star of the recent European Under-21 Championships and the Blues have moved quickly to do a deal with Feyenoord, according to reports.
The 20-year-old could even be sent back to Feyenoord for next season where he would be guaranteed first-team football before then linking up with Chelsea for the start of the 2008/9 season.
Drenthe, who has also attracted interest from Aston Villa, is expected in London this week to finalise his personal terms and medical before penning a lengthy contract at Stamford Bridge.
Drenthe plays on the left flank just like fellow Dutchman Arjen Robben, who is still attracting interest from Madrid.

The funny thing is i signed him way way before last season ends in my FM for United. Little did i know that this player is a huge prospect.
Anyway, Chelsea would have gotten themselves a real deal if Roya's move is sealed.
