The Magpies Beat Aston Villa To Capture Cameroon International.
Newcastle United have reportedly made their fourth summer signing with the capture of Geremi from Chelsea for around £2m signing-on fee, beating late interest from Aston Villa.
According The Evening Chronicle, the 28-year-old has agreed a three-year deal after passing a medical at the clubÂ’s Benton HQ.
The Magpies boss Sam Allardyce, who has earlier signed Mark Viduka, Joey Barton and David Rozehnal, has been on the trail of the Cameroon international ever since it became clear that the Blues do not need the former Real Madrid player and his contract ends in the summer.
Geremi, who arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2003 on a reported four-year deal, can operated as a right full-back as well as a right-winger. He was a regular for the Blues under Claudio Ranieri but lost his place under Jose Mourinho.
The report also claims that Geremi cut short his holiday in Africa to fly to Tyneside, and was impressed by the set-up and the area. He had spent a season on loan at their north-east rivals Middlesbrough in 2002/03.

Newcastle needs him. Carr is always injured and they have no utilityman.
