Ballack in fresh ankle blow

  Chelsea have suffered a huge pre-season blow with the news that midfielder Michael Ballack requires fresh ankle surgery.
  
  The German star originally went under the knife in April, after suffering the initial problem against Newcastle.
  
  With pre-season training set to begin, Ballack has suffered complications in his recovery.
  
  The Blues would have been hoping to have Ballack recovered in time for their pre-season campaign - which kicks-off against Club America on July 15th.
  
  However, Ballack will now have fresh surgery on Tuesday and it is not known when he is likely to return.

  IMO , Chelsea are better off w/o him
