Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon is hopeful that they will sign Arjen Robben from Chelsea.
The Spanish giants have been chasing Robben for some time since Calderon took over the presidency at El Santiago Bernabeu.
Chelsea are adamant Robben is going nowhere and they claim they are in talks with the Dutchman over a new deal at Stamford Bridge.
Real could also find themselves in a battle with Chelsea for Lyon winger Florent Malouda.
Malouda is looking to leave Lyon and the French international claims he has held talks with Jose Mourinho over a possible move to West London.
Calderon has confirmed Real are keen on Malouda and that he is confident of bringing Robben to the Spanish capital.
"Malouda is a player that our (technical secretary) Miguel Angel Portugal likes a lot," Calderon told the club's official website.
"But we also have to consider other players that would fit in, like Robben, who has many chances of joining our team."
