This is one of the better letter of the weeks I've seen.
The Postman's Question for the Week is: Who offers better value - Theirry Henry or Darren Bent?

The question of value and worth in this comparison is a great example of what the superpowers and the pretenders are like in their market mentality.
Barcelona only want the proven best in the business because anything less is not enough to keep them at the top.
Tottenham are among the posse of clubs that take on players that are potentially world-beaters - but not quite there yet - for one main reason: The big-time players don't really want to go there.
In Spurs' case, there is an over-emphasis on youth, which reeks too much of a 'buy-and-hope" arket strategy.
To say Darren Bent is already proven may be a little early still, considering the comparison we're making here.
At 29, Theirry Henry is at the peak of his powers, which is exactly what the top clubs like Barca need to stay as the top dogs.
If Henry can perform to anywhere near his best, even just getting two or three years out of him will be worth more than the money Barca have paid to get him.
Of course, Bent may be potentially as good as Henry is in the Premiership.
Looking at his performance,s though, I can only surmise that his youth may be the only advantage he has over Henry.
both players will be contributing goals, but towards different ends.
For Spurs, it's trying to move up; for Barca, it's for staing up.
If history provides anyindication, then over the next couple of years at least, Henry certainly looks to be the better deal.

Henry offers more then just scoring goals, look at how many assists his has.
Plus the psychological advantage he has on defenders, defenders are always drawn to him, thus leaving lotsa empty spaces for teamates to exploit.
Only thing that Bent is better then Henry in is heading! -
