Gilberto Silva has hit out at Didier Drogba after the Ivorian dismissed Arsenal's title prospects. The Arsenal skipper is very unimpressed with the Ivorian's arrogant snub towards the Gunners' title chances.
"So Drogba said we are out of the title race, did he? Let's wait and see what happens," he told The Sun.
He then took a bite out of the Blues slip-ups last season.
"What I do know is that last season Chelsea spent a fortune on new signings, but still couldn't beat Arsenal once in the league.
"They didn't defend their title either, so I think Drogba is talking a little bit too much."
Gilberto is currently in Venezuela on Copa America duty, but also took time out to discuss Arsenal's signing of Eduardo da Silva, a Croatian of Brazilian origin.
"We played against him in the Champions League. He appears to be a good player and a great striker, but we will have to wait and see how he settles in and adapts to to English football.
"I think he can do well. It will also be good to have someone in the team who can speak Portuguese.
"We'll lose a lot without Henry. He was our main player, the captain, the top scorer," continued the 30-year-old midfielder.
"It is true that replacing him will be no simple task, but we can't go through the kind of spell that we went through when Patrick Vieira went to Italy."
Finally he praised his three compatriots Anderson, Alex and Lucas Leiva, who have moved to Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool, respectively.
"Anderson, Alex and Lucas are all great player. I wish them all the luck in the world. Except against Arsenal, that is!"
