Arjen Robben has revealed that he is ready to stay and fight for a place at Chelsea if a move to Real Madrid does not materialise.
The Dutch forward has two years left on his contract at Stamford Bridge, but is widely expected to move to the Bernabéu this summer.
Florent Malouda's arrival at the Blues from Olympique Lyonnais could see Robben slip down the pecking order in José Mourniho's squad.
Madrid president, Ramón Calderón, has said publicly that Robben is a target, but it will be down to new coach Bernd Schuster if he wants the former PSV star.
If a firm offer does not arrive, then the 23-year-old has stated that he is happy to stay in London and help the Blues to fight for the Premiership title and the Champions League.
"I have known that Real Madrid have wanted me for some time, but at the moment I'm a Chelsea player," he said.
"We are dealing with two European institutions of the highest level that are always a force in the Champions League and for whom any player would like to sign.
"I do not know if there has been any contact between the two clubs, and, if not, then I will be a Chelsea player for the next two seasons."
