David Beckham has been poached

  A bronze statue of former England football captain David Beckham has been stolen from a garden, police said today.
  
  The three-foot high figure forms part of a six-foot electric street light, and shows the player standing with his foot on a ball.
  
  The entire structure, valued at around £400, was taken from the front garden of a house in Romsley, near Halesowen, between 8pm on July 7 and 10am yesterday.
  
  Police said the thieves would have needed a vehicle to transport the bronze.
  
  Anyone with information on the theft is asked to contact Bromsgrove Police on 08457 444 888.
