Joey Barton admits he is still bitter about the treatment he received during his final days at Manchester City.Former City boss Stuart Pearce hit out at the midfielder after the England cap criticised his former team-mates for their under achievement during his time at Eastlands.
But Barton, now part of Sam Allardyce's revolution at Newcastle, claimed Pearce was out of order and should have kept his opinions to himself.
"I didn't speak to Pearce about Newcastle because we had a relationship breakdown in the end," Barton told The Sun.
"He came out and said certain things which he shouldn't have said, whether he felt them or not.
"There's a lot of things I feel about him but I've not come out and said them and I don't plan on doing so.
"When you have a working relationship with someone, there are a lot of things that should be kept in-house. Stuart thinks differently and he is entitled to his opinion."
Meanwhile, Newcastle have been delisted from the Stock Exchange following Mike Ashley's takeover.
The club confirmed that shares in the Magpies officially stopped trading at 8am on Wednesday morning.
