Birmingham City have set up the permanent signing of Mido after agreeing a £6million fee with Tottenham Hotspur. The Egypt international revealed earlier in the week that he was close to moving to St Andrews after falling out of favour at White Hart Lane.
Mido had claimed he would be joining Blues on a season-long loan, with a view to a £5million switch next summer.
But Blues have now confirmed their intention to sign the striker on a permanent basis immediately, with a £6m figure agreed.
The former Ajax and Roma forward will now head to the Midlands to discuss personal terms with Steve Bruce's side.
Bruce had been chasing a big-name signing and expressed his confidence that he would be able to tame the temperamental Mido.
Birmingham have also been trying to thrash out a deal to bring in Mido's Spurs team-mate, and fellow Egyptian, Hossam Ghaly.
