The former England internationals Robert Lee and Warren Barton were being held today on suspicion of taking a limousine, after the pair were arrested in east London last night.Scotland Yard refused to confirm the names, but said two men aged 38 and 41 have been arrested on suspicion of taking and driving a vehicle and driving while unfit. Officers were called to Hackney Road, east London, at around 11.30pm last night to reports of a car being stolen, a Scotland Yard spokesman said.
The limousine was found in the same road, having been involved in a collision with a van. The men were arrested later at two east London addresses. Scotland Yard also confirmed officers are investigating reports that a satellite navigation system and a mobile phone were stolen from the limousine.
The men are in custody at an east London police station.
