Atletico Madrid have unveiled Simao Sabrosa as their latest £13.4million signing after the Benfica winger signed a four-year deal on Friday.
The Spanish outfit confirmed the news on their website after the 27-year-old winger passed a medical at the Vicente Calderon Stadium.
A Benfica statement on Thursday revealed that the deal also includes an option for the Portuguese outfit to take two Atletico players in the other direction.
Simao is likely to take over the role vacated by Bulgarian winger Martin Petrov, who was sold to Manchester City for £4.7million on Thursday.
