Real Madrid boss Bernd Schuster has expressed his interest in bringing Rafael van der Vaart to the club in the near future.
The Hamburg playmaker has been in impressive form since joining the Bundesliga outfit in 2005 and has since caught the eye of Schuster who believes the 24-year-old would be an excellent addition to his squad.
Schuster told Kicker: "He is a very interesting player who is on my list.
"We know all about Van der Vaart's ability. The fact is, if we want Van der Vaart then we will get him," he added in an interview with Hamburger Morgenpost.
Van der Vaart himself has expressed on a number of occasions his desire to play in the Primera Liga and Hamburg could find it hard to turn down a large offer from the Spanish champions.
