Fiorentina have had an audacious bid for England international Aaron Lennon dismissed by Tottenham Hotspur, according to a report in La Nazione.
The Serie A outfit are said to have lodged a bid of around €16m for the 20-year-old winger, which was immediately rejected by Spurs.
Martin Jol values Lennon at €25m and that has meant Fiore have been forced to move on to make their interest known in Atlético's Maxi RodrÃguez.
Pantaleo Corvino, Fiorentina's sporting director, is said to a keen admirer of Lennon and that led the club to make a concrete approach.
Lennon joined Tottenham for just €1.5m from Leeds United in 2003 and his rise has been impressive at the north London club.
