Manchester City have reportedly held talks with Real Madrid about signing forward Antonio Cassano, but face competition from Sampdoria.
The Sun has reported the Italian international, 25, has been told he can leave the Bernabeu for an initial fee of around £2million.
The main stumbling block to the move could be the former Roma player's wage demands as the frontman is apparently looking for a weekly wage of around £50,000 a week.
Bolton and West Ham are also reportedly interested in Cassano and Sampdoria have also expressed an interest in signing him.
"He is one of the players with the best talent in Italian football," Sampdoria sporting director Beppe Marotta told RAI.
"It is obvious that Sampdoria is interested in him."
