Gunners swoop for Pedersen?

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has made a move for Blackburn midfielder Morten Gamst Pedersen, according to reports.
An initial approach from Arsenal for the left-sided midfielder, 25, has already been knocked back by Blackburn Rovers, according to the Daily Mirror.
But Wenger is prepared to go as high as £8million, even though Mark Hughes may prefer a deal of cash plus midfielder Mathieu Flamini.
It is believed that Arsenal have money to spend after missing out on Newcastle's Obafemi Martins. -

Although Pedersen is good, i think he's definitely not suited for Arsenal because he has no pace. Arsenal's counter attack and movement are of top speed so i think Pedersen will struggle if he were to make the switch.
Downing would be a better choice.

Hughes Tells Arsenal 'Pedersen Not For Sale', Wenger Hasn't Made Bid
Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes has issued a hands-off warning to Arsenal saying ‘Gamst Pedersen is not for sale’.
The rumour mill has began to churn again, with BlackburnÂ’s attacking midfielder Morten Gamst Pedersen linked to a move to Arsenal.
There has been no confirmation from the London club to say they have submitted a bid for the 25-year-old, but Hughes has felt the need to respond to the speculation in case there is any substance behind the story.
Rumours suggested that The Gunners are readying an £8million bid for the Norway international.
"He isn't going anywhere and particularly not for £8m considering the price of players now," Hughes told the Sun.
"We've heard nothing from Arsenal and, in the week leading up to the game, possibly someone has been a little bit naughty.
"It isn't based on any fact. We're not interested in selling Pedersen."
The player himself was not as quick off the mark to dismiss the rumours, and suggested that this was not the first time his name had been linked to a move away from Ewood Park.
"There are several clubs who have been interested," Gamst Pedersen told VG.
"It's been back and forth. But the manager has clearly declared that I am not for sale."
But Arsenal manger Arsene Wenger flatly denied trhe rumours. When asked of his interest in Gamst Pedersen he said: "No, (I have not made a bid for him)." -
Blackburn have to hold on to him....

I've read lotsa reports on an 8mil fee, but i think he's definitely worth more then that.
Unless its some minimum fee release clause. -
Sign Pedersen please. I think Arsenal needs another set-piece taker in their squad.

But Arsenal already have Rosicky and Van Persie who are both free kick specialists with Rosicky also being a corner specialist.
