Anthony Gardner has called for Tottenham fans to be patient following the side's disastrous start to the new campaign.Spurs had been tipped to impress this season with some expecting Martin Jol's team to have a chance of breaking into the top four.
However, the North Londoners looked flat in their last-gasp defeat at Sunderland before being rolled over in their home opener against Everton on Tuesday.
Gardner believes Saturday's clash with newly-promoted Derby is a six-pointer and is desperate for a result to lift players' morale.
"I just hope the fans can be patient because we have the quality to turn this around," stated Gardner.
"We just need a result to go our way. It may be early but Saturday is a must-win game for us to lift our morale.
"I can understand the fans' frustrations. Expectations are high and they are looking for us to do big things.
"We finished fifth last season and we have improved the team since then so we were expecting to make a strong start but we haven't."
