Sunderland have completed the signing of striker Andy Cole who has penned a one-year deal with the Black Cats.
Cats boss Roy Keane believes his former Manchester United team-mate will add some much-needed experience to his squad as they look to survive in the Premiership, and is delighted to have him on board.
Cole has not signed in time to figure against Liverpool this weekend but with a full week of training under his belt, he should be ready for the trip to Old Trafford next Saturday if selected.
"I met with Andy on Monday in Manchester and he has agreed to come here for a season," Keane revealed. "He's having a medical today and his experience on the field will be vital.
"A lot of our players are lacking experience in the Premier League. That hasn't really been an issue to me, but if a player like Andy is available and he fancies coming to us, he's certainly a player we have to consider."
