Fergie slams UEFA

Sir Alex Ferguson has blasted UEFA's bid to hand a Champions League place to the FA Cup winners as "totally ridiculous".
New UEFA chief Michel Platini wants to bolster national cup competitions by opening up Europe's top club competition to the victors.
But Ferguson is hoping that his fellow coaches will agree with him when they meet in Geneva next month.
Ferguson said: "I just don't agree with it because you can win the FA Cup playing nobody.
"The only two teams Chelsea beat to win the Cup last season were Blackburn and ourselves, while a few years ago we played Millwall in the Final. With all due respect to Millwall, that didn't warrant a place in the Champions League.
"I think the idea is totally ridiculous." -
I second that. Imagine Championship team in Champions League.

and also fergie seems to forget that spurs was closest to beating eventual champions chelsea on the route to wembley. -

so ECL in reality shld be called big-european-footballing-nations-cup, since the champions of sweden and finland and norway and whatever are not as welcome as the 2nd 3rd 4th placed barca, man utd, juve, real, milan, bayern. -
Michael Platini shouldn't imply the FA Cup winners rule.
Otherwise we will see the champions league's standard drop.
