Keeper got plenty many even the best of the best in Asia cant make it in EPL (remember Kawaguchi in Portland?).Asean striker big or small oso same so dont make a comedy in front of the goal mouth.Short midfielder being fielded is no mission impossible as proven by Diego Maradona.Since Taksin is the owner he could create some opening for his countrymen to play in the not so important matches.Originally posted by HyuugaNeji:Seriously there isnt any thais good enough to play in the EPL. They are all too short and skinny and lack vision.
But if i were to choose, i would probably pick a striker.
GK - no point
defender - too short
midfielder - too short and skinny
striker- at least have a bit of pace
I would pick Pipat Tonkaya.
I believe you meant Portsmouth?Originally posted by Short Ninja:Keeper got plenty many even the best of the best in Asia cant make it in EPL (remember Kawaguchi in Portland?).Asean striker big or small oso same so dont make a comedy in front of the goal mouth.Short midfielder being fielded is no mission impossible as proven by Diego Maradona.Since Taksin is the owner he could create some opening for his countrymen to play in the not so important matches.
Yes my bad,its Portsmouth. When the Owner gets patriotic its bad for the Soccer club but good for the Country so I think PAP Should go buy Arsenal or Real Madrid>Originally posted by CKeer:I believe you meant Portsmouth?
Anyway, there're news on Birmingham Owner pushing Chinese players to the first team and now there're news on Thaksin wanting Eriksson to play Thai players. What are managers for? Aren't they supposed to choose and manage a team which he thinks is best for the club? Why are owners poking their noses in?
You bought the club, you pump in money to push the club forward. Thats it, end of story. I dont get it when owners forced managers to select and purchase players against the managers' wills.
Cheers.

The same reason why Chelsea was so weak last season. Mourinho was forced to play shevchenkov due to roman abramovic's intervention. Otherwise, Chelsea would have been a much stronger team if mourinho can just use his own tactics and dont need to listen to others.Originally posted by CKeer:You bought the club, you pump in money to push the club forward. That is why it is important that your country qualifies for the World so that players can show what they are made of.I think we are now talking more about ASEAN soccer players and is coming to a conclusion that there are no one at the moment.Originally posted by brokenluv:theres plenty of example of good asian players making it to european leagues tho it takes incredible effort and talent
I didnt see that match but maybe you are talking about Pipat Tonkaya also there is one Indonesian player who looked more like an Australian bushman he was fast and tricky but could only last 60 minutes of each game. But to play in EPL you need to do more than that or warm up the bench.Originally posted by bangkokboy:There was a really good player playing on the right wing of the Thai vs Australia team. Forgot his name. Created numerous chances and ran rings around the Australian defence.
