Ballack out for Chelsea

Michael Ballack's name was noticeably absent from Chelsea's squad list for the UEFA Champions League group stages.
Last Friday was the date for the submission of the list and Chelsea's medical staff could not guarantee Ballack would recover in time, from ankle surgery, to play any part in the Group B matches.
The group stages conclude on 11th December, with Chelsea to play Valencia, Schalke and Rosenborg home and away.
Chelsea have confirmed that they are hopeful Ballack will be available for the latter stages of the competition.
"Naturally, we hope Michael's recovery is as quick as possible, that he returns to full training ahead of schedule and that he will then be available for the latter stages of the competition, should we qualify," read a statement from Chelsea.
The 31-year-old has not played since April and will now definately not feature in Europe until February at the earliest.
He has, though, according to reports, been pencilled in for a domestic return at the end of October. -

Ballack is a waste of money man... Lucky United didn't sign him or $130,000 pounds into the Longkang every week... No onder Roman want to cut cost... cos of these "Fat cats" they have to pay...

Bridge adds new twist to Ballack saga
The controversy surrounding Michael Ballack's omission from Chelsea's Champions League squad deepened last night as it emerged that the injured Wayne Bridge has been included.
Bridge, who had an operation on his hip in the summer, is two months away from returning but has been named in the 25-man squad.
However, Ballack, who is close to full fitness according to German sources, has been left out.
Germany team manager Oliver Bierhoff called Ballack's omission "stunning".
He said: "Obviously we're concerned. Michael is the only one who can tell us what happened. It's stunning when a player of his calibre is not included in the Champions League squad." -
Time for some spring cleaning.

Ballack is a liability, not an asset.

Actually i still think Ballack is a good player... But for some reason he just can't play alongside Lamp or the chelsea style... I guess its good that he isn't in the ECL squad, this way he can still go to another top euro club in Jan where he won't be cup tied to play in this season's CL.
