Jose Mourinho is set to sign Portuguese wonderkid Kaby after agreeing a secret £5million deal with Boavista.
The teenage prospect - real name Aliu Djalo - has been on trial with Chelsea after emerging as one of the best young players in Portugal.
Stamford Bridge chief executive Peter Kenyon has set up a downpayment for the 17-year-old, with the fee rising to as much as £5m should he force his way into the first team and win trophies with the Blues.
Securing his services would be a major coup for Chelsea because other top clubs - including Arsenal and Bayern Munich - were also interested and have been keeping tabs on Djalo.

The youngster was born in Guinea Bissau, West Africa, but has a Portuguese passport and his adopted father, Mamadu Bobo Djalo, is on the coaching staff at Boavista.
Chelsea boss Mourinho is keen to build up the club's youth team reserves - hence his interest in Djalo, a strong, attacking midfielder.
However, the Portuguese FA have been keen for Djalo to stay in Portugal to ensure he becomes eligible to play for their national team. If moves to Chelsea now, he could play for England in the future.
