Chelsea are finally expected to be admitted to football's G14 group under radical plans to expand the elite organisation from 18 to 45 clubs.
Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are the Premier League's only members, but G14 president Jean-Michel Aulas is determined to make it a more inclusive organisation.
Chelsea are the richest club in Europe not part of the group and manager Jose Mourinho has claimed their absence puts the Blues at a disadvantage.
Details of the expansion plan will be discussed today when representatives of the G14 clubs gather for the group's general assembly in Brussels.
New members are not only expected from strongholds of England, Spain, Italy and Germany, but also from Russia, Turkey and even some non-European countries.
After Chelsea lost to Barcelona in 2006, Mourinho said: "Maybe we have a chance of Champions League success if the G14 becomes G15 and we go where the power is."
