Sven-Goran Eriksson and Micah Richards have scooped the Barclays Awards for Manager and Player of the Month, respectively.
Sven-Goran Eriksson and Micah Richards have become the first ever Manchester City pair to pick up the Barclays Manager of the Month and Barclays Player of the Month Awards together.
The awards recognise City's flying start to the Barclays Premier League season.
England international defender Richards, 19, becomes the first Manchester City player ever to win this accolade, following a series of inspirational performances at the heart of the City defence.
Last month Richards helped City achieve victories against West Ham away (2-0), Derby County at home (1-0) and Manchester United at home (1-0).
The club's 100% record was broken only by a late defeat at the hands of Arsenal (1-0) at the Emirates Stadium.
The award also marks an ideal start back in club management for Eriksson in his first Barclays Premier League season.
He becomes the first City manager to claim the accolade since Stuart Pearce enjoyed an equally successful opening to the season in August 2005.
The decision was made by the Barclays Awards Panel, which includes representatives from football's governing bodies, the media and fans.
