Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp is ready to raid the transfer market again, this time targeting Brazilian international striker Afonso Alves.
Alves, 26, plays for SC Heerenveen in Holland and finished just a single goal behind Roma star Francesco Totti in the race for EuropeÂ’s Golden Boot last season.
The former Belo Horizonte striker scored 34 goals in 31 games in the Dutch league for the team who also sold on Ruud van Nistelrooy, Marcus Allback, Jon Dahl Tomasson, Klaas Jan Huntelaar and Georgios Samaras for big money.
